The headlines say that Russia was suspended from the Euro Football (we call it Soccer over here) games because of “use of fireworks and racism.”
I haven’t been able to find an information which substantiated the claims by Uefa that the Russian fans committed acts of racism, so I gather one of them probably bitch slapped a negro English fan or some such bullshit. That’s always the way it goes. Some “person of color” probably shuffled into the fray, got hit, then everyone started screaming “H8TE! RAAAYYYYYYCISMMM!!!”
It doesn’t matter what country you’re from, it’s clear that race is not a “social construct”, and Russians are paler than even the palest English chap.
Here we were, so it seemed, right back in the 1980s: the early-morning drinking, the trashing of businesses and the outbreaks of hand-to-hand combat between our flabby white islanders and the tougher, fitter natives – in this case, some of the hard men of the sprawling Marseille gangland.
By Saturday afternoon, however, a new warrior detachment entered the fray in the shape of the Russians, as pale as the English, but demonstrably fitter and better equipped.
The above quoted text serves as the explanation for why Russia was handed down a hefty fine and suspended disqualification for fighting that is the norm rather than the exception at soccer games in Europe. History shows that England, the “flabby white islanders”, are usually the ones who start the fights. It’s just that this time, the “fitter and better equipped” Russian bros handed them their balls via the anal route.
That sounded gay, but Russians are the manly men of the globe, and the world knows it. Just compare leadership for starters:
Seriously though, Russians slay at everything.
Back to the suspended sentence and fine though.
I guess, as per usual and customary practice, fights broke out in the streets of Marseille after one of the games, or after all of the games; my point being is that Russian fans got the better of English fans, then someone started saying “DATS RAYCISS!” resulting in Russia getting a slap on the hand.
Uefa charges over ‘crowd disturbances, use of fireworks and racist behaviour’
Russia have been handed a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016 over crowd disturbances at the game against England in Marseille on Saturday, Uefa has announced.
Charges from the governing body to the Russian Football Union relate to “crowd disturbances, use of fireworks and racist behaviour” around the 1-1 draw with England at the Stade Vélodrome on Saturday.
Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body met in Paris to consider the case and imposed the suspended disqualification and a €150,000 financial penalty. However, any further incidents of crowd disturbance inside grounds at Russia’s matches during the European Championship will see the suspension lifted and the country thrown out of Euro 2016. 1-1 draw, eh? Oh no, there’s no motivation to give Russia the boot at all! Russia and England are in Group B of the games, and ousting Russia would be obviously good for England. According to the Euro 2016 stats page, out of their group Wales has won 1 against Slovakia, and the one game played between Russia and England was a draw. I predict England would be able to beat Wales and Slovakia, which would make them the winners of their group earning them the right to move on in the tournament.
English and Russian fans are equally as “tooled up”, or ready to scuffle with one and other. I’ve watched a lot of footage and seems both sides are equally as jacked up in the stands and elsewhere. So why did only Russia get the suspended ban hammer? Who cares! I love European football. I go there for the game, but stay for the fights.
